I - Ecologically responsible and efficient recycling of Pd from aqueous effluents using biosorption on biomass feedstock

In the current context of considerable interest in palladium (Pd), a new process Pd biosorption is described with various natural materials derived from plant feedstocks. Eichhornia crassipes was chosen as model for determining thermodynamic and kinetic parameters biosorption. The optimised then tested on other (wheat, pine cones, coffee grounds, green tea grounds), powders dead native (Mentha aquatica) invasive aquatic plants (Pistia stratiotes, Ludwigia peploides). competitive platinum group metals, i.e. Pd, Ru, Ir, Rh, Pt) also evaluated using E. crassipes. Moreover, selective separation Pt, Ru Ir possible. Mechanistic investigations allowed us to explain high affinity root powder obtained plants.
